A “pyramid” surrounded by snow has gone viral on social networks due to its resemblance to the Egyptian pyramids. However, these Google Earth images are not as strange as users might think.
This mountain peak surrounded by snow is called ‘Nunatak’, This is the second time in history that this debate has occurred since this region of Antarctica was discovered by English researchers in 1910.
“The pyramid-shaped formations are located in the Ellsworth Mountains, which are more than 400 km long, so it is not surprising that there are rocky peaks protruding from the ice”the doctor explained Mitch Darcy.
“The peaks are obviously made of rock, and it is a coincidence that this particular peak is so shaped.”
He added. “It’s not a complicated shape, so it’s not a special coincidence.”The scientist explained.
,By definition, it is a nunatak, which is a rock peak protruding above a glacier or ice sheet. “It’s shaped like a pyramid, but that doesn’t make it a human construction.”He ended by saying Darcy.
