Bella Poarch, the TikTok star known for breaking the platform’s record for most likes, has entered the music scene with her new single “Build a B*tch.” A pop track with a toy undertone, the song’s lyrics focus on the demands placed on women in terms of appearance and personality.

Poarch said on her podcast that the song stems from her own history of being bullied as a child.

Poarch has over 66 million subscribers on the short video platform. Her rise to TikTok fame has been rapid, fueled in large part by her viral lip sync to Millie B’s “M to the B,” which is currently the most popular video on TikTok. Now she’s expanding her horizons with “Build a B*tch” and its accompanying music video.

In a video introducing the song’s theme, Poarch and guest stars, including streamer and internet personality Valkyrae and former porn star Mia Khalifa, are shown as floating heads attached to doll bodies that can be customized and purchased. Eventually the women rebelled, stormed the store and set it on fire.

Poarch promoted the new song with Valkyrae, whose real name is Rachel Hofstetter, on “The CouRage and Nadeshot Show,” a 100 Thieves podcast hosted by the gaming company’s CEO Matt Haag and co-owner Jack Dunlop. Poarch spoke about the new single and the inspiration behind it during Thursday’s podcast episode.

“When I was growing up, I was bullied and everything about the way I looked,” Poarch said on the podcast, saying she had wanted to be a singer since she was a child. “I wanted my first song to have a good meaning and help a lot of people become more confident.”

She also took to Twitter to talk about the song’s personal meaning, thanking fans for their support. “This song is not just a song. She means the world to me,” she wrote on Friday. “My whole life, no one ever believed in me. I just had to believe in myself.”

“Build a B*tch” received over 5 million views on YouTube less than 12 hours after its premiere. In addition to Valkyrae and Khalifa, it features cameos from online creators Larry “Larray” Merritt, ZHC, Dina, Sub Urban, Bretman Rock and Rahim.
