While the couple didn’t confirm their relationship back then (and haven’t since), they were seen on a few dates, and Steinfeld was even seen spending time with Allen’s mother.

In August 2023, Allen appeared on the channel Pardon my opinion podcast in which he neither confirmed nor denied his relationship with Steinfeld – but was not opposed to the hosts calling her his girlfriend.

May 25, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen spend the evening together in New York City.

Following rumors that he and Williams had split, the quarterback was spotted with Steinfeld. Judging by the photographs published by the publication New York Post, Allen was seen exiting a black SUV with Steinfeld nearby.

He was later photographed with his hand on her back.

May 27, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen meet for another date in New York City.

Just two days later, Steinfeld and Allen were photographed taking another stroll through the Big Apple, this time with two other people. The athlete was wearing an all-black uniform. Edge of Seventeen

May 29, 2023: A source confirms Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen’s connection to PEOPLE.

According to a source close to the actress, it has been officially confirmed that Steinfeld and Allen are dating. An insider tells PEOPLE that they have been “hanging out for a few weeks now” and are a “cute couple.”

“It’s something new, but they’re having fun,” the source added.

May 31, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen go on a sushi date.

The new couple enjoyed another date night in New York, this time over sushi at Sushi By Bou in Chelsea. Michael Sinenski, the restaurant’s founder, posted a photo on Facebook of the new smiling couple hugging Steinfeld as they posed with chef Sergio and another couple during their omakase experience.

“More fans of el chapo @chefsergio_nyc. Thank you Billy Josh Allen for always coming to town and loving Sushi By Bou,” Sinensky wrote, adding, “Also thanks for inviting newcomers Hailee Steinfeld and friends to #chelsea #.” “New York Experience”.

Allen was also shown in a single shot with a chef holding a flamethrower.

June 22, 2023: A source tells PEOPLE that Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are “getting to know each other.”

A few weeks after the sushi date, a source close to Steinfeld confirmed to PEOPLE that they are “still dating and getting to know each other.”

“He will be very busy in training camp, though, so they’re not putting too much pressure on the situation and we’ll see where it goes,” the source added.

August 3, 2023: Josh Allen says it “amazes” me how interested people are in his relationship.

“The fact that anyone cares still amazes me,” Allen responded.

January 29, 2024: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen spend time together in California.

February 21, 2024: A source tells PEOPLE that Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are in a “serious relationship.”

Steinfeld and Allen’s connection continued to grow stronger as a source close to the couple told PEOPLE that they were getting more serious.

“They always planned to spend more time together after the season ended. Things were going very well,” the source said. “They are both very family-oriented and driven, and they want to protect their relationship and keep it private. They were on the same page with it all.”

While the proposal remained up in the air, an insider confirmed that the idea had already been discussed.
