Butler (USA) (EFE). – Republican candidate and former US president, Donald Trump (2017-2021), was evacuated from a rally he held in Butler, Pennsylvania, after gunshots were heard in the area and apparently managed to hurt him.
According to EFE, gunfire could be heard from the scene, but it was unclear whether they came from security services or the alleged attacker.
The Republican candidate was carried to his feet from the stage, where he had only been 10 minutes, with blood on his right ear and may have been injured, as EFE verified from the scene.
Trump walked from the stage surrounded by Secret Service elements with his fist raised, but images appeared to show he was uninjured.
The former president was evacuated after gunfire was heard and authorities have confirmed that the place has been declared a “crime scene” and an ambulance assisted in the evacuation.
Authorities have asked thousands of people attending the rally, which is taking place shortly before the start of the Republican convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to remain peaceful.
A strong police, Secret Service and helicopter presence has cordoned off the area and is protecting the former president.
Trump reportedly put his hands over his ears after three gunshots were heard, followed by several more amid screams from aides.
