Two days after winning the European Cup, The Sports Administrative Court (TAD) disqualified Pedro Rocha for two years and fined Pedro Rocha 33,000 euros. for exceeding his duties while heading the Management Commission of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). In particular, the disqualification is related to the dismissal of Andreu Camps, the secretary general of Luis Rubiales. Rocha will require precautionary measures to avoid the sanction and be able to participate in the elections in the fall.
The current RFEF president was facing a six-year disqualification. This was the suggestion of a case instructor who felt that The leader of Extremadura has committed three very serious offences.: In addition to Camps’ dismissal, there was the termination of the contract with the law firm GC (owned by Tomás González Cueto, the RFEF’s legal adviser during Rubiales’ mandate) and the Federation’s involvement in the Super Cup affair.
Finally, TAD imposes a fine of €16,527.84 on Rocha for each of the last two decisions (GC Legal and the Super Cup case) and retains two-year suspension for firing Camp. what the instructor asked for.
“Arbitrary and rude” actions
“What is surprising is that in this case (…) single-handedly and without subjecting it to discussion and approval by a collegial body, he made the decision to arbitrarily and unilaterally dismiss the Secretary General of the RFEF,” the TAD’s resolution on Camp’s dismissal details. “Mr. Rocha went too far in carrying out his functions, he carried out state functions without being a sole state body”.
TAD is quite harsh with Rocha, who says that Their actions “do not stand up to the judgment of reasonableness” and “must be classified as arbitrary and gross.”.
“The Court considers that (i) because of the nature of the violations, which by their very nature reflect an arbitrary and despotic exercise of federal functions; (ii) because of the circumstances surrounding the event, such as coincidence of intentionality and gross and obvious illegality of conduct; (iii) its author, the chairman of the temporary collegial governing body of the RFEF, (iv) its functions, such as convening meetings of the Management Commission under Art. 31.8 of the RFEF Charter, for violation of the act may be punished by a fine or deprivation of the right to hold federal office for a period of two to five years,” TAD justifies.
The case stems from a complaint filed by Miguel Galán, president of CENAFE, to the Supreme Sports Council (CSD), which promoted him to TAD at the end of March. On April 15, the TAD filed a case against Rocha and the rest of the Management Committee.which were ultimately excluded from the sanctions proposal.
Having learned that he was facing a six-year disqualification, Rocha’s defense team asked for the entire TAD to be recused, a maneuver designed to delay the decision and exceed the three-month maximum the court had to decide, which dragged on until almost the last day. TAD Rejects Rocha’s Requestwho now has no choice but to resort to ordinary justice.
Yaye, the vice president who will take over his succession
It is normal for Roshi to appeal and ask for precautions to be taken to avoid leaving the presidency.Otherwise, he would have to immediately leave the post he has held since April, when he won the election. And her successor will be María de los Ángeles García Chávez, aka Yaye.
still vice president. It is not known who will take over the transition until elections are called in September, as it is unlikely that there will be two elections.Yaye has been a footballer for over 25 years and was a professional at CF Femenino Cáceres (current Cacereño Femenino). She also coordinated the youth team of CF Femenino Cáceres Atlético, where she was also a coach. He is a senior sports technician in football (Level III) at CEDIFEX.
