In a nutshell
● On Saturday, January 20, 2024, an examination was held to cover over eleven thousand FSE seats aligned with the Ministry of Health’s 2023 call.
● In this regard, there are: 8772 MIR seats and 2108 EIR seats. Those corresponding to pediatrics, 508, and pediatric nursing, 246; In both cases, slightly more than in the previous year.
● Vaccine-related questions covered: three in the MIR exam, seven in the EIR, two in the FIR and one in the BIR. Answers found to be correct are marked and await confirmation from the Ministry of Health.

Exams will take place last Saturday, January 20, 2024. Call in August 2023 For Specialized medical training (FSE) (BOE No. 202 dated August 24, 2023) for a total of 11·607 places:

  • Medicine (WORLD): 8772 places (436 (5%) more than last year). The following specialties offer the largest number of places: family medicine 2492 (37 more places (1.5%) than in the previous year), pediatrics 508 (more than 7), anesthesia 427 and internal medicine 425. See attached table.
  • Nursing (EIR): 2108 positions, of which 246 are in pediatric nursing (see attached table) and 891 are in family and community nursing.
  • Pharmacy (FIR): 340 places.
  • Psychology (PIR): 247 places.
  • Biology (BIR): 65 places.
  • Physics: 48 places.
  • Chemistry: 27 places.

30 come to the exam·A total of 064 candidates, of which 13·990 pass the MIR exam and 9,010 pass the EIR.

Pediatrics in the current challenge of the FSO

There were 508 MIR posts in pediatrics and its specific areas and a further 246 EIR posts in child nursing, which are distributed among the autonomous communities, as shown in the accompanying table.

Exam 2024.

The exam was held simultaneously in 28 locations throughout Spain. Each exam included 200 questions and an additional 10 reserve questions with four possible answers and one correct answer. After the examinations, the Ministry of Health published question booklets in different versions and images related to some questions.

The Ministry of Health will soon publish the correct answers.

Vaccinations for 2023 exams in different disciplines

For several years, FSO exams in various disciplines have included a different number of questions related to vaccinations. Below are questions related to vaccinations (and vaccine-preventable diseases) and the correct answers (in red). All questions and answers discussed relate to zero version from the official question booklets. Correct answers are based on the AEP’s online immunization guide and Department of Health recommendations, but have not yet been confirmed by the Department of Health.

Questions about vaccines on the MIR exam

Only one question was found related to Covid vaccines, another related to monoclonal antibodies directed against RSV, and one related to current vaccine-preventable disease.

37. Vaccination using SARS-CoV-2 S (Spike) protein messenger RNA aims to protect the population from COVID-19. Regarding the reaction to this vaccine, indicate the FALSE statement.:

  1. The response does not require the participation of T lymphocytes, since it is a thymus-independent antigen.
