Venezuela expels diplomats from 7 countries for not recognizing Nicolas Maduro’s victory

The Venezuelan government announced this Monday the expulsion of diplomatic representatives from seven Latin American countries accused of not recognizing President Nicolás Maduro’s victory in Sunday’s presidential elections. Likewise, the re-elected president’s executive decided to “withdraw all diplomatic personnel.”

The Venezuelan executive decides to take into account what they consider “the interventionist actions and statements of a group of right-wing governments subservient to Washington and openly committed to the most abhorrent ideological tenets of international fascism” and, they warn, “reserve all legal and political actions to implement, preserve and defend our inalienable right to self-determination,” says the Maduro government, which, on the other hand, will “confront all actions that threaten the climate of peace and coexistence.”

“They intend to ignore the electoral result of the presidential elections held this Sunday, July 28, 2024, which gave Nicolás Maduro Moros a victory as President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the new constitutional period 2025-2031,” he said.

The seven countries affected by the Venezuelan government’s decision to expel them are: Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Panama.

Precisely, before the announcement by the government of Nicolás Maduro, Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino had also announced this Monday that Panama was suspending diplomatic relations with the Caribbean country and withdrawing its diplomatic staff “until the minutes are reviewed” of the presidential elections. “The delicate relationship established in recent years with the Republic of Venezuela has been seriously damaged in recent days. First, as a result of the unilateral closure of the airspace by the Venezuelan government to the flights of our airline Copa Airlines on Friday, July 26, “the Panamanian president explained on the social network ‘X’.

On the other hand, Argentine President Javier Miley has taken his personal duel with Nicolás Maduro to a new level with the publication of a message in ‘X’ in which he describes the result of the presidential elections in Venezuela as an “electoral scam” and, therefore, does not recognize the Chavista government: “He does not even believe in the electoral scam that La República Argentina celebrates,” he writes on Elon Musk’s social networks.

“We do not recognize fraud, we call on the international community to unite to restore the rule of law in Venezuela, and we remind the Venezuelan people that the doors of our homeland are open to everyone who wants to live in freedom,” adds the ultraliberal politician in an old Twitter post.

On the other hand, Miley also refers to the statements made by Nicolás Maduro in his first speech after knowing the first official results of the presidential elections in Venezuela: “For me the insults of the dictator Maduro are flattering,” he writes the Argentine president.

After marching for about 10 kilometers through the streets of eastern Caracas, thousands of protesters arrived at a point near a main highway, where members of the Bolivarian National Guard (GNB, militarized police) and the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) blocked their further march.

According to the EFE agency, lUniformed officers fired tear gas shells and live bullets at the protesters And they arrested about twenty of them, while protests and mobilizations continue in different parts of Caracas.
