Dua Lipa, Jon Batiste, Jared Leto, Andra Day, Amanda Seyfried and Hailee Steinfeld are among the music stars (some of whom have also had successful acting careers) set to present the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, which will be broadcast on live on CBS and streams on Paramount+ on Sunday, January 7th at 8:00 pm ET/5:00 pm PT.

The Golden Globes don’t traditionally feature nominees for best original song, but Lipa is nominated in that category for co-writing “Dance the Night” from Barbie.

Other presenters include comedy stars George Lopez and Will Ferrell, as well as media queen Oprah Winfrey. Winfrey was the 2018 Cecil B. DeMille Award recipient at the Globes. This award, and the Carol Burnett Award, its television equivalent, will not be presented this year.

As for the film, Barbie is the leading Golden Globe nominee this year with nine knots, followed by Oppenheimer (eight), Killers of the Flower Moon And Poor things (seven each) Past Lives (five) and Anatomy of a fall, Teacher And May December (four each).

As for television, Continuity is the leading candidate with nine nodes, followed by Bear And Only murders in the building (five each) and Crown (four).

This year the Golden Globes will present two new nominations. BarbieThe film, last year’s biggest box office hit and one of the most popular, is expected to win awards for its cinematic and box office achievements. Other nominees Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning, Part One, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Movie “Super Mario Brothers” And Taylor Swift: Eras Tour.

Another new award is best performance in a stand-up comedy. The nominees are Ricky Gervais for Ricky Gervais: ArmageddonTrevor Noah for Trevor Noah: Where have I been?

Chris Rock for Chris Rock: Selective OutrageAmy Schumer for Amy Schumer: Emergency ContactSarah Silverman for Sarah Silverman: The One You Love and Wanda Sykes for Wanda Sykes: I’m an artist.

The 2024 Golden Globe Awards will also be available to watch live and on demand on Paramount+ for SHOWTIME subscribers in the US or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers only the day after the special airing in the US.

Emmy Award-winning producing duo Glenn Weiss and Ricky Kirshner of White Cherry Entertainment will executive produce the show, with Weiss also directing. Created and owned by Dick Clark Productions, the Golden Globe Awards are one of the few awards ceremonies to include achievements in both film and television.
