Israeli Foreign Minister mocks Spain and highlights Hamas’ “gratitude” to President Sánchez
The Israeli Foreign Minister, Yisrael Katz, posted today the October attacks against Israeli territory that killed 1,200 people and kidnapped 240 others. Israel responded to these attacks by launching the Gaza War, in which Israeli attacks have already killed more than 35,000 people.
In the text of the message, the official account of Spanish President Pedro Sánchez is linked, just before a phrase that reads, “Hamas thanks you for your services.”
Curiously, as some reactions to the tweet have shown, the music that accompanies these images is not flamenco, but a melody with a vaguely Spanish air, but it seems to come from another region of Spain, not from Andalusia, the birthplace of flamenco.
The announcement that Spain is preparing to recognize a Palestinian state on Wednesday, May 28, has prompted an angry reaction from Ireland and Norway, as well as Israel. On Friday, the head of Israeli diplomacy announced that his country would prevent the Spanish consulate in East Jerusalem, the Palestinian part of the Israeli-occupied city, from providing services to Palestinians.
