We already know the first sales estimates for Apple Vision Pro. There’s good news and bad news.

Now that it’s been a few days since reservations opened for the Apple Vision Pro, some estimates are starting to come in units that were sold. Apple wants to usher in a “new era” of so-called spatial computing, so this first step is important.

We know that many people have started to reserve them in the USA, to what level has the volume of reservation reached? Ming-Chi Kuo was the first analyst who dared to give us an assessment.. For him there are good and bad feelings.

Lots of reservations, but only in the first days

Kuo believes that Apple managed to sell from 160,000 to 180,000 Vision Pro units

But one made of lime, the other made of sand: Delivery delays stopped after 48 hours. If deliveries are no longer delayed, it means that everyone who wanted to buy the Vision Pro at the time of booking has already done so. Kuo believes that these early buyers are the most enthusiastic and that their wave of doubt has passed. The Vision Pro’s price means the general public won’t be as eager to buy it as they are with the iPhone.

In other words, Kuo believes that Apple quickly sold out of the first units it produced, but won’t have a consistent level of sales at this point. For the first few months it will be a niche product..

It’s possible that we’ll learn more about this launch on February 1st, ahead of the official launch in stores. This will be the day Apple releases its financial results, and Tim Cook usually comments on some of the important events of the fiscal quarter. Of course, something will be hidden regarding Vision Pro.

Once reserved, auctions reach mind-blowing prices.

The launch of a new Apple product being limited to one country has the inevitable consequences that some of the orders placed are auctioned on various web portals. A simple search on eBay reveals Vision Pro auctions for inflated prices from $4,500 to $6,000..

Mark Gurman himself warned auctions on another portal StockX, where examples of the Vision Pro could be seen for at least $10,000. Prices are well above the $3,499 the base model costs. This is a phenomenon that will lessen as availability increases and sales expand internationally.

Gurman isn’t wrong to advise against buying the Vision Pro this way: in addition to spending extra money, you’re at the mercy of someone who may well take advantage of the initial enthusiasm for the device. If you want to be sure, it’s best to wait until they officially arrive.
