This type of toxin is slightly different from what other bacteria can produce, which typically cause food poisoning with an obvious set of symptoms, usually digestive. Aflatoxins are special because they can accumulate in the body and cause long-term effects such as cancer, in particular they are closely linked to liver cancer.

There is no specific or specific degree of occurrence of cancer, such as with drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco: the more often this exposure occurs, the more likely it is to appear. For this same reason, the best strategy to follow is to avoid mycotoxins in the food source. Exposure to mycotoxins in Europe is quite low and the controls carried out are largely preventive in nature to ensure they are not introduced through imports from other places with less safeguards.

For this same reason, the main priorities of a hypothyroidism diet usually include maintaining a healthy nutritional state (avoiding overweight and undernutrition), as well as ensuring proper absorption of food and proper intestinal transit.

How do they usually approach this? Typically, with mediation, levothyroxine is often taken along with the healthy diet you are asking us about. This diet typically focuses on moderate energy (calorie) intake and ensuring adequate iodine intake (which is key to thyroid function).

We should also consider limiting goiter-causing foods such as broccoli, cauliflower or cabbage, as they can interfere with the synthesis of thyroid hormones, especially in cases of hypothyroidism, which occurs along with iodine deficiency.
