WhatsApp, the Meta messaging app, will stop working on several older mobile phone models from June 1, 2024, following a line that has led to continued updates to its features.

The app’s solution is due to updates to the Android and iOS operating systems that will make the app incompatible with some older devices.

The announcement will affect more than 30 phone models that include devices from brands such as Apple (iPhone), Samsung, LG, Huawei, Sony, Lenovo and ZTE.among other brands present in the technology market.

New versions include improvements in security, performance, and compatibility with new hardware.

This means that older devices cannot adequately support an instant messaging application and the entire repertoire that it will integrate.

Losing this app could mean a gap in your daily activities.therefore, it is necessary to follow certain recommendations so that the impact is not so drastic.

WhatsApp users with affected devices have several options to avoid being disconnected. First, you can try updating the operating system of your phones.if an update is available and continue using the application for a while.

If not, It is recommended that you consider purchasing a new phone that is compatible with the latest versions of the application.so try not to buy models that no longer have an app.

Another alternative is to use other instant messaging apps, although these are not as popular as WhatsApp and may have a different user base, but given the complete loss of the app, it is important to consider the options.

One way to avoid losing all your information saved on WhatsApp is to create a backup.. Here are the steps you need to follow:

  1. Open WhatsApp and go to the three vertical dots located in the top right corner of the screen.
  2. From the drop-down menu, select Settings.
  3. Go to Chats and then Chat Backup.
  4. In this section you can see the status of the last backup made. To start a new one, click “Save” in Google Drive. You can choose how often you want backups to occur automatically.
  5. Select the Google account where you want to save the backup. If you haven’t added a Google account yet, WhatsApp will prompt you to add one.
  6. Choose whether you want to include the video in the backup. Keep in mind that videos can take up a lot of space on Google Drive.
  7. Click “Save” to start the backup process manually.
  1. Log into WhatsApp and go to Settings in the bottom right corner.
  2. Select “Chats” and then “Backup.”
  3. Here you can see when the last backup was made. To create a new one, click “Back up now.”
  4. Before copying, you can choose whether you want to include the video or not by checking or unchecking the “Include Video” checkbox.
  5. The backup is saved to iCloud, so make sure you have enough space in your iCloud account to complete the backup.

It is critical that users of affected devices act early to avoid being left in the dark when these updates take effect.
