When is the full moon in July 2024 in Guatemala and why is it called “deer”

full moon This occurs when the side of the Moon facing the Earth is fully illuminated by the Sun.

NASA often studies the Moon. Surface maps could reveal potential landing sites for future exploration missions on this satellite.

In the USA there is a publication called The Old Farmer’s Almanac (The Old Farmer’s Almanac). The institution indicates that since 1792 the almanac has been aimed at understanding various areas of life, as well as some that attracted people’s attention.

Topics that have generated the most interest include moon phases, sunrises, and special dates for sky watchers. The Almanac served as a reference book for decades as its publications associated names with each full moon as they reflected signs of nature.

According to the publication, full moon names come from Native American, Colonial American or other traditional North American sources passed down from generation to generation.

Magazine Fashion published that the Moon is associated with the subconscious. “On a full moon, the entire façade of this natural satellite is illuminated by a star. Therefore, it is said that the full moon illuminates what is hidden in the darkness of the subconscious, to give light and therefore clarity to our deeper emotions and thoughts,” he explains.

So the full moon is coming associated with moments of closure. When the full moon passes, the waning moon stage begins. Some beliefs believe that after the full moon, people become more introspective, reflective, or decide to deep clean their home or take a break.

Why deer moon?

This moon is also known as the Thunder Moon because the Native Americans called it that and associated it with severe thunderstorms in early summer. This year it will be Sunday, July 21st.

In accordance with The Old Farmer’s Almanac, The July full moon is called the deer moon because the antlers of male deer are in full growth at this time.

This July moon can also be called: Summer Moon (in the northern hemisphere) or hay moon (since it coincides with the hay harvest season), according to the publication National Geography.

Other names by which the July full moon is known:

  • thunder moon
  • Feather Molt Moon
  • Summer Moon Halfway
  • Lunar month of ripe corn
  • Crimson Moon
