A Marvel insider recently revealed why Hawkeye was given a Disney+ series instead of a solo film.
“We decided to move Hawkeye from the feature film side to the Disney Plus side,” Marvel MP Trinh Tran explained in an interview for MCU: Reign of Marvel Studios.
The Marvel Parliament is a group of filmmakers “who have been with the company longer than we care to admit, and who help each other with ideas on all the properties… it’s really just a kind of brain trust that helps take movies to the next level as we We can,” band member Nate Moore told CinemaBlend.
Tran continued: “We have an Avenger whose backstory we haven’t really explored yet. We also need to introduce a new character (Kate Bishop) and give them enough time to bond and create that special dynamic that everyone is so drawn to in comics. So by moving it, we ended up with six hours, three times as much time, which really gave us the creative flexibility we needed to tell the story.”
HAWKEYE was very popular among MCU fans, with many praising the chemistry between the actors and the hilarious storyline. Part of Movieguide®’s review of the first two episodes of HAWKEYE reads:
The first two episodes of Hawkeye are an interesting, funny and upbeat addition to the Marvel franchise. They create a unique setting in the run-up to Christmas, in which family, sacrifice and good are exalted over evil. The first two episodes contain many funny, exciting and touching scenes that demonstrate these positive values. This morally uplifting and redemptive content is marred by brief gratuitous language, plenty of action involving violence and danger, and scary villains. MOVIEGUIDE® therefore advises caution in older children. However, the third episode of HAWKEYE is even more exciting and funny. It also seems cleaner. There’s been no official word yet on when Marvel fans will be able to see Hawkeye or Kate, but a post-credits scene in last summer’s Marvels hinted at Kate’s potential return.
The heroine, played by Hailee Steinfeld, comes home to her apartment and meets Ms. Marvel.– Kamala Khan, who tells the archer that she is assembling a team – the Young Avengers.
Steinfeld seems excited to return to her role in the MCU; In an interview after the release of HAWKEYE, the actress said, “I’m so ready to get back into it. “I can’t wait to be on set again with people who do what I do and love what we do, and I have such a sense of belonging when I’m on set and a sense of home, and it’s just for me like. »
