The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 has finally arrived after weeks of leaks and speculation. Like its predecessors, it doesn’t skimp on quality and offers some of the best hardware money can buy, and it’s priced to match. It’s currently only available in China, but a global launch is set to happen soon.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and a 5100mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Like the Redmi K70 Ultra Extreme Edition, it features Xiaomi’s Surge chips for better power management. You can customize the foldable system with up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of storage.
Next up, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 sports a massive 7.98-inch main display with an adaptive refresh rate of 1–120Hz, a maximum brightness of 3000 nits, an average brightness of 1700 nits, and a PWM frequency of 2160Hz. It measures 6.56 inches, has identical specs, and also has a layer of Xiaomi Shield Glass protection.
Despite its large screen size, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 weighs only 226 grams and is only 9.47 mm thick when folded. It comes with a new hinge that is rated for 500,000 folds. The body is made of Xiaomi’s own composite fiber, which is 25% stronger than its predecessor and offers up to 42% greater tensile strength.
Like many previous flagship smartphones, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4’s cameras are tuned by Leica. The 50MP primary sensor supports OIS. It’s accompanied by a 50MP telephoto lens (2x optical zoom), a 10MP periscope lens (5x optical zoom), and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens. Both the cover and the inner screen feature a 16MP selfie camera. It can record videos at 8K 24fps, 4K 60fps, 1080p 960fps, and 720p 1920fps.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, dual-frequency GPS (L1 + L5), NFC, and two-way satellite communication (calls and text messages). A USB 3.2 Type-C port makes charging and data transfer easy. For biometric authentication, there’s a fingerprint sensor built into the power button. The entry-level Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 variant with 12GB RAM/256GB storage costs CNY 9,000 (€1,134). Its top-end variant with 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM will set you back CNY 11,000 (€1,387).
