Xiaomi Redmi K60 Ultra, Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Ultra are starting to receive the unofficial HyperOS 1.5 update with dozens of changes and improvements.

Companies like Gizmochina and SmartDroid have noticed the start of a major rollout of the new HyperOS. Xiaomi doesn’t officially describe the update as such. However, the volume of changes, Xiaomi’s penchant for offering “.5” updates, and the likely arrival of HyperOS 2 alongside the Xiaomi 15 series this fall have led Gizmochina to use the phrase “HyperOS 1.5” instead of long update build numbers.

As you can see in the screenshot below, Xiaomi has bundled dozens of changes into one firmware package. Ultimately, the update focuses primarily on optimizing existing features, such as the number of preloaded apps, to improve app launch speeds. Xiaomi also claims to have improved memory usage, though it doesn’t provide specific details on this.

On the other hand, the new update packages include several bug fixes, including some dedicated to improving the behavior of HyperOS in the status bar and notifications. The update has so far started rolling out to the Redmi K60 Ultra, as well as the Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra (currently $1,145 on Amazon). However, Xiaomi has further limited the rollout of the update to China, where the company typically rolls out new features and system updates first. More details can be found in the changelog and the screenshot below.
