Jeff Nichols brings Cyclists to theaters on June 19, 2024. Inspired by the story of an American photographer Danny Lyondocumenting life Midwest biker club from 1965 to 1967, right up until I became part of their gang and lived next to them, the film chronicles the creation and rise of the fictional Chicago Vandals club.

Inevitably influenced EasyReader And Sons of Anarchythe film captures the atmosphere perfectly Liberty which permeated American society in the 60s, supported soulful rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack. The US has not yet participated in Vietnam War on a massive scale andemancipation engaged society culture and interest to this day metro leisure.

From the very beginning as a simple racing car (created out of admiration for Marlon Brando in L’Equipée Sauvage) To moral failure of the vandalsGripped by a new generation traumatized by war and not sharing their values, Jeff Nichols brilliantly captures an era when everything still seemed possible. The American director chooses a female point of view to tell Katie’s epic story.(Jodie Comermagnificent as always), who willy-nilly finds himself in this testosterone-fueled world.

The introduction of the various members of the gang takes place in the form of still camera shots, a reference to Danny Lyon’s portrait photography. Led by Johnny(Tom Hardy(especially invested in the role), Chicago Vandals features a top-notch cast, including Michael Shannonwho signs his sixth collaboration with the director Find shelter, Norman Reedus (The walking Dead) as a laughing biker from a rival club, and Austin Butlerwith his light, dark and silent angelic face, Johnny’s right hand.

Of course, they are making it all up, and they heavy midwestern accent have something to do with it, but the film also exposes the cracks in these outcasts, rejected by life, questioning them masculinity and them need to belong to a group. After all, vandals weren’t always tough guys. Actually, Cyclists tells the story of love-starved little boys who, in order to recreate the family they never had, surround themselves with roaring engines.
