Brazil chooses coach
Having recently extended his contract with Real until 2026, Carlo Ancelotti confirmed contacts with Brazil, which were not successful: “The reality is that I had contact with the Brazilian team, with its president Ednaldo Rodriguez, to whom I am grateful for his love and interest in coaching Brazil, which I was very proud of, but everything was pending. Returning to the interim presidency of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodriguez makes it clear that Brazil needs a new coach, having been unable to find Carletto, the main goal of the Federation. Thus, pending the decision of the Brazilian Federal Court on the election of Rodriguez, the president will have time to choose the coaching staff.
Dorival Jr. – Chosen One
Although a variety of names have been linked to the Brazilian bench, such as Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola, the future coach appears to be in the Brazilian country. According to Globo, the chosen one will be Dorival Junior, the 61-year-old coach of Sao Paulo.
In this sense, the CBF is preparing a meeting with the São Paulo team to complete the arrival of the Brazilian coach, winner of the Libertadores, three Brazilian Cups or the South American Cup Winners’ Cup. Junior will become a free agent in December 2024 and will have Filipe Luis, a former Atlético Madrid footballer who recently retired, on his coaching staff.
