Israeli troops have completed a two-day operation at the Nour al-Shams refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, the Israeli Defense Forces told CNN on Sunday.

Images of the raid, one of the IDF’s largest raids in the West Bank since October 7, show concrete slabs and debris scattered across the area. The Palestinian Health Ministry and the official Wafa news agency said Saturday that at least 14 people, including a child and a teenager, were killed in the attack. Israel says it killed 10 “terrorists” and arrested wanted suspects.

Violence by Israeli settlers and IDF soldiers increased in the West Bank during Israel’s combat campaign in Gaza. The Palestinian Red Crescent said settlers killed the driver of an ambulance trying to transport injured Palestinians on Saturday.

According to the Health Ministry, 483 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers or soldiers in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem since October 7.

Death toll in Gaza: At least 34,097 people have been killed in Gaza since October 7, the Palestinian Health Ministry said on Sunday. At least 76,980 people have also been injured. According to the ministry, more than 70% of the dead were women and children. CNN cannot independently verify the figures due to lack of international media access to Gaza.

West Bank workers strike: According to Wafa, the Palestinian political faction Fatah said on Saturday that a labor strike was organized in the West Bank on Sunday over the deaths of Palestinians in the occupied territories and Gaza.

Hamas condemns US aid: Hamas condemned the US House of Representatives’ approval of a more than $26 billion foreign aid package for Israel, calling it a violation of humanitarian norms and a “green light” for the further destruction of Palestinians and their communities. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the package shows bipartisan support for Israel in the United States and “defends Western civilization.”

Türkiye and Hamas leaders meet: He said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed efforts to bring humanitarian aid to Gaza and the “urgent need” for a ceasefire during a meeting with top Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in the capital Istanbul. This is their first meeting after October 7.

War Cabinet meeting: Israel’s war cabinet met late Sunday local time to discuss efforts to free the remaining hostages in Gaza, an Israeli official confirmed. Negotiations on a ceasefire and hostage agreement have been facilitated by international mediators for several weeks, but no notable progress has been made.

Tension in Iran: Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei called on the country’s armed forces to continue their fight against Israel by learning military innovations and “the enemy’s tactics.” In a statement on Khamenei’s official website on Sunday, he thanked Iran’s military for the April 13 operation against Israel. Attacks between Israel and Iran this month have raised fears of escalating regional conflict in the Middle East, but both sides appear to be taking a step back for now.
