Emily Blunt was very excited to play the role of Kitty and was a little worried that she wouldn’t be able to handle the script (a typical feature of a traditional Nolan film). But she will always remember how Nolan offered her the role.

She told Stephen Colbert:

“Chris Nolan will call you back. Although he doesn’t have a phone (his wife called her)… They call you and you go to meet him. “I went to meet him at his house…You have this whole conversation with him.” (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert)

That’s when everything became reality.

Emily Blunt joked about why she actually agreed to play the role of Kitty

Continuing the Nolan theme course of action She said,

“We were just, you know, talking about God knows what, and then he says, ‘Okay, I’m going to make this movie, Oppenheimer.’ You heard? If you want to take a look at the role of Kitty Oppenheimer, I’d like you to do so.”

That’s when the real trick began. She continued:

“Then they hand you the script on red paper, because obviously you can’t photocopy red paper.”

Colbert entered: – So he doesn’t trust you? Blunt responded in the negative. But it wasn’t just about using red paper. She jokingly said:

“It’s hypnotic. “That’s why everyone says yes (to the role).”

Much to her relief, the “hypnosis” did not lead to her loss, since Oppenheimer became one of the best releases of the year, earning $950 million in the North. And the actors who were “hypnotized” did well too.

This is the hallmark of Chris Nolan. He tries his best to have good actors in all areas. Earning an RDJ is one such achievement. After all, having quality supporting actors only enhances the quality of his work, which is what he’s been doing for years.
