Emily Blunt appears to be gearing up for another reunion with her Jungle Cruise co-star Dwayne Johnson.

Blunt, who stars alongside Johnson in the 2021 Disney film, is reportedly in talks to star in Crash Machine, which follows the life of mixed martial arts champion Mark Kerr.

According to Variety, Blunt will play Kerr’s wife Dawn Staples, who “struggling to find her place in Mark’s chaotic and contradictory world.”

Johnson will play Kerr, and the film will follow the “legendary MMA fighter of the unprecedented UFC era at the peak of his career” and document his “battle with addiction, victories, love and friendship in the year 2000.”

“Crushing Machine” comes from director Benny Safdie, who co-starred with Blunt in “Oppenheimer,” and the new project began in 2019 amid negotiations between Johnson and the director.

While Crushing Machine was shelved, Blunt encouraged Johnson to make the film several years later after watching the Kerr documentary, when she and Safdie spent time together on Oppenheimer, pushing Safdie to reunite with Johnson.

The re-teaming comes after Johnson and Blunt were confirmed as producers by Amazon’s Kate Warne, who is also attached to star the actress.

The story follows a real-life law enforcement officer who became the first female detective in the United States at the Pinkerton Agency.

Smashing Machine will begin filming this summer, although a release date has yet to be confirmed.
