Emily Blunt’s “guilt” for breaking up with her daughters with John Krasinski and taking an acting break

Emily Blunt has two daughters with her husband, American actor John Krasinski, but last year she warned fans that she was taking a step back from acting to focus on motherhood.

Film fans may fear Emily Blunt will be off screens for the entirety of 2024 after she revealed she was taking a year off to spend more time with her family.

The 40-year-old British actress is married to American actor, writer and director John Krasinski, 44, and together they are the proud parents of daughters Hazel, nine, and Violet, seven. And while Emily said she’ll be taking a year off to spend more time with her girls, she’ll still be appearing in theaters throughout 2024.

Last year, the actress appeared in the hit film Oppenheimer and the Netflix film Hustlers in Pain, and this year she is set to appear in the action-comedy The Fallen Boy alongside Ryan Gosling and voice a unicorn character in the upcoming sci-fi comedy IF. . which means “imaginary friends”.

Both films will be released in May, and Emily is poised for awards success as she is nominated for a Golden Globe, Critics’ Choice, Satellite and Saturn Award for her role as Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer; Nominations for the Oscars, Baftas and Emmys are expected to be announced in the coming months.

Last year, while promoting Oppenheimer, Emily explained why she stepped away from the world of acting as she found it difficult to balance acting and parenting. She told the Table For Two podcast: “It’s one of those things where people ask, ‘How do you balance it?’ You know, I never feel like I’m doing everything right.

“I worked quite a lot last year and my oldest child is nine, so our last year is in the single digits. And I just feel (as if) there are cornerstones to their day that are so important when they’re little. And this: “Are you going to wake me up?” Will you take me to school? Will you pick me up? -Will you put me to bed? And I just need to be around all of them to have a good time. And I just felt it in my bones. I had a great time on the projects I worked on last year. Some were more intense than others, some were harder than others. Some took longer than others.

“The ones that take a lot of time, I think for me, they become fewer and farther apart because of the emotional toll it takes on me, the kids, in general. And I am very prone to feeling guilty, I think all mothers are prone to this. “I just tend to feel bad that, God forbid, I want something other than motherhood.”

Emily and John have been praised in Hollywood for their parenting skills in the past, with a source telling Us Weekly back in 2018: “Their careers may be busy, but they have a great family life… Most of the time, they’re just normal parents taking their kids on days out.” birth and games. On weekends they all have lunch and play in the park.”
