Hamas announces that it accepts the ceasefire proposal

Jerusalem, (EFE).- Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas political bureau, informed Egypt and Qatar this Monday that the Palestinian Islamic group has accepted his proposal for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas made the announcement in a brief statement, giving no further details, after it ordered about 100,000 Palestinians in eastern Rafah to evacuate the city in view of a possible ground attack by Israeli forces.
