Here’s what the visual changes look like in the increasingly Android-like iPhone app.

There was a time when WhatsApp iOS and WhatsApp Android were very different. So much so that it even seemed like two different applications. For some time now, WhatsApp is changing its interface to make it more and more similar to Android and vice versa. Overall, Android has seen a lot of changes to make it look like an iOS app, but now the opposite has happened.

As our colleagues at Xataka Móvil announced, WhatsApp is starting to roll out a new interface on iOS. This doesn’t mean it’s a big change, but since ultimately any minor change to such a widely used app is noticeable, you’ll notice it. In fact change blue tones to greenthereby getting closer to the corporate image of the application.

WhatsApp is going green, including on iOS

As we already said, the WhatsApp interface on iPhone has always been characterized by blue tones. Not in chats, where green bubbles have been common on Android almost since the first versions of the application. However, the settings backlight and chat screen have received a blue tint. Until now.

The transition to green is still spreading and does it in stages. Therefore, it is possible that it hasn’t arrived yet and you see that a friend or family member already has it in green. There is no need to update as this is not a version-specific change, although it is always advisable to have the latest version.

The images clearly show which elements are changing. While not something that completely changes the paradigm, it is noticeable when it deep changes to the entire interfacein the sense that we see this both on the main panels and in the contacts tab.

A prelude to personalization in WhatsApp?

They were never available on iOS, but on Android we have seen many WhatsApp mods, the most famous of which is WhatsApp Plus. They are not recommended to use as they often contain malware and pose the risk of having your WhatsApp account banned as they are prohibited. However they had very missed feature from the moment of use.

This is no more and no less than be able to change the interface color. These mods offer this, although they are not official WhatsApp. For now, of course, since certain references to personalization were discovered on WhatsApp at the beginning of the year. Does this mean that this will be a new product very soon? Absolutely. In fact, we may not even see it because it ends up being discarded. However, this is at least a tribute to a much-desired feature, which, by the way, will ensure that in iOS we can return to blue or any other color if we wish.
