General Director of the network, Jose Bernabeu, explained that “although it was a challenging year due to inflation, we recorded sales growth of 14.6% and customer growth of 13%, consistent with the confidence that more and more people have in our centers.” In addition, he attributed some of the progress to “improvements made in supermarkets, both in expansion and in the equipping of centers.”

Along with the impact of inflation on this growth, which the company did not want to specify, is the increase in retail space, which, according to the company, reached 69,416 square meters after adding three new openings in the Valencian cities of Xativa and Rafal and Alcoy from Alicante. At the end of the year, the chain of stores consisted of 79 establishments with a total number of employees of 1,138 people.

This year the company will add eight more new centersFive of them are located in the Valencian municipalities of Buñol, Alginet, Paiporta, Ceste and the capital of Valencia. The other two are located in the province of Alicante, one in Castalla, already open, and the other in Bagneres de Mariola. The last one will open in Caudet (Albacete).

As a milestone last year, Hiperber launched expansion of the Novelda logistics platform, which opened in 2018 to ensure its growth with the construction of a new 8,000 square meter warehouse to be added to the existing 12,000 square meter warehouse. The new expansion is expected to open in May.
