Honor launches foldable Honor Magic V2 in Europe
The thinnest, sleekest smartphone yet, plus a luxury version inspired by motorsports.
Honor has unveiled its latest flagship in Europe, the Honor Magic V2, a foldable smartphone that stands out as “the thinnest device in the sector.” The presentation took place at the Porsche Experience Center in Leipzig, Germany, where the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR, developed in collaboration with Porsche Design, was also presented.
Honor Magic V2 is presented as a device that incorporates more than 210 technological advances, from an ultra-thin battery to a cooling system, hinges, screen and speakers. Its thickness of 9.9 mm when folded is achieved thanks to the ultra-thin battery of the new generation Silicon-Carbon-Dual Battery with a thickness of 2.72 mm and a power of 5000 mAh, as well as 66 W fast charging.
The device’s durability is highlighted by a hinge made from aircraft-grade materials and titanium alloy, certified by SGS and designed to withstand over 400,000 folds, ensuring reliability for up to ten years of daily use.
In terms of displays, the Honor Magic V2 features a 6.43-inch external LTPO OLED display and a 7.29-inch internal LTPO OLED display, both with 3840Hz PWM dimming technology to reduce eye fatigue. A 50MP triple camera along with AI Motion Sensing Capture capabilities highlight the photography capabilities of the device.
The device is powered by a powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and Adreno 740 GPU, while configuration options include 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. On the software level, Honor highlights features such as Hover and Android 13-based Magic UI 7.2 operating system, which offers an intuitive and efficient user interface.
The Honor Magic V2 is available in Spain for €1,999 in purple and black, the latter with a leather-effect finish.
Also at the event, Honor unveiled the Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR, a motorsport-inspired version with an elegant and sporty design. The rear of this model is finished in a distinctive agate gray color, inspired by the hood of the Porsche 911.
The Porsche Design Honor Magic V2 RSR features improved screen durability with a scratch-resistant nanocrystalline screen and sports car-inspired design. It promises a unique combination of style and performance.
