How to buy Cubana de Aviación tickets online in Cuban pesos and foreign currencies?

From the end of November 2023, the national airline Cubana de Aviación announced the opening of online purchasing of airline tickets or tickets. However, doubts continue to arise regarding how to create this reserve in both Cuban pesos and foreign currencies. Official sources spoke about this in detail.

According to reports from there, the new version of the website of the Cubana de Aviación airline has been available for a couple of months. The website already allows you to book tickets for domestic flights, such as Havana-Santiago de Cuba or Havana-Holguin, as well as international destinations. This can be done by transfer or cash at Cubana offices.

According to officials, the site has been updated with a more modern, functional and faster design, making it easier to find the connections you need. Users can check flight availability for their preferred dates and book tickets online.

How to buy online with Cubana after new prices

Now, with the new prices, doubts continue to arise, although from the Cubana de Aviación Telegram channel one of its employees clarified it this way. Through the official website (we provided the link above), online booking is carried out in CUP, USD, CAD and EUR. “Available as of JAN 24th. There is no APK file yet, only the website,” he added.

He then added that “current availability is no longer as of January. You need to search the site and if they don’t appear on the date you want, it means there is either no flight for that day or tickets are no longer available. Payments in CUP from Transfermovil.”

An example of the new airfare prices is the price of flights from Havana to Guantanamo Bay, which increases from 1140 to 4300 Cuban pesos, which is one of the longest flights. Another case was a trip from Havana to Holguin, the cost of which increased from 935 pesos to more than 4 thousand pesos, a cost that was already high for many.

There are a growing number of flights from Havana to Gerona, on the Isle of Youth, and their cost exceeds a thousand pesos. We remember that the pension in Cuba in many cases does not exceed 1,500 pesos per month.
