Inside the BAFTA Hollywood Tea Party: Rosamund Pike, Emily Blunt, Greta Gerwig and More (Exclusive)
BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) held its annual awards season tea party in Los Angeles on Saturday, welcoming stars to Maybourne Beverly Hills for an afternoon of celebration.
The envoy was present during the filming of the scene, which took place on the roof of the hotel. Stars milled about, enjoying the lush decor of red roses and candles, sampling tea sandwiches, lobster tacos and wagyu tartare appetizers, pastries, champagne and, of course, a full tea bar.
Among those in attendance was Rosamund Pike, who shared a laugh with Seth Rogan and discussed Tom Clancy’s novels with Paul Giamatti (“You really got me into books!”). Downton Abbey the star is delighted) and posed for a photo with Saltburn co-star Alison Oliver.

Meanwhile, Giamatti had Leftovers meeting with Dominic Sessa, proudly patting his colleague on the shoulder.
Rogan was in a cheerful mood, joking with those present and keeping everyone on their toes with his repertoire.
OppenheimerEmily Blunt and Cillian Murphy met on the red carpet with a long hug and a heartfelt “congratulations” from Murphy. Blunt also exchanged hugs with Daisy Jones and the sixSam Claflin admits to him that “it’s a lot.”
As for Claflin, he came with his girlfriend, model Cassie Amato. They posed for photos together on the carpet.
Barbie Director Greta Gerwig was littered with well-wishers congratulating her and telling her how much they loved the blockbuster, to which she responded with an enthusiastic “thank you very much” and lots of hugs.
Barbie star America Ferrera expressed joy in bumping into Eva Longoria and gave her a big hug. Longoria, for her part, was overjoyed to see Gael García Bernal and let out an excited scream when she saw the actor/producer. They posed for photos together and chatted in a circle for a few minutes.
Longoria also spent time with her Flamin’ hot star Jesse Garcia chatted and introduced him to new people, and also interacted with Adrien Brody.
Derek Hough and Julianne Hough arrived together and immediately expressed shock at how crowded the Maybourne Hotel lobby was. They both looked at each other and exclaimed “OMG” before Derek headed over to say hello and chat to Alfonso Ribeiro. Meanwhile, Julianne had a long conversation with former STX president Sophie Watts, apparently about a new dance project.
Virgin Atlantic, which sponsored the event, offered a playful change from the usual formalities of the event by encouraging participants to throw bean bags and compete for a prize.
