Mental health is a constant topic of conversation in legal practice, as lawyers are more likely to experience extreme fatigue and harassment in the workplace. “A study conducted by LawCare, which surveyed 1,700 professionals involved in the legal world, found that litigation-related workers are at high risk of experiencing extreme burnout, indicating that 69% of “They suffered” due to for mental health problems in the past 12 months, and 25% of those surveyed said they had been a victim of bullying, discrimination or harassment in their workplace,” reads an Idealex.press article on the issue.
Robert Chander, President of the International Union of Lawyers (UIA), points to the progress made in mental health within the profession and the vital role of legal organizations in promoting mental health practice: “I think we have made a lot of progress in recent years. but not enough. “There are structural issues within the profession that need to be addressed, as well as advocacy by bar associations, law firms and legal departments to promote mental health.”
Chander also notes the importance of collecting case studies on legal mental health: “Conferences can be helpful if they educate participants on practical measures that can be taken to promote mental health in the profession. In particular, those in leadership positions should be encouraged to be ‘advocates’ who promote individual mental health and recognize the structural causes of certain mental health problems among lawyers.”
The event’s featured speaker and keynote speaker will be Laurie Santos, a Yale University professor and expert on the “science of happiness.” The purpose of your conference will be to provide knowledge on how to make wiser decisions and live a happier, more fulfilling life.
