The legal firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP maintains that there has been a “total rupture” of the communication channels that they had used until now with Kanye West and therefore they have not been able to inform him that they are terminating their employment relationship with him.

According to their version of events, the controversial rapper’s phone number has been deactivated, so they are looking for “alternative means” to inform him of their decision. The documents obtained by TMZ point to a bizarre, but certainly effective idea: the company plans to buy space for an ad in two Los Angeles newspapers, where they will publish the judge’s order allowing them to withdraw from the case.

The goal is to update Kanye that Greenberg Traurig will no longer represent him in his copyright infringement lawsuit against Ultra International Music Publishing. The firm is aware that this move would cause a media frenzy, but deep down that would help Kanye eventually figure out what’s going on.

Last week, the 45-year-old musician appeared in public for the first time in several weeks when he was spotted with his new love Bianca Censori at the Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills. It later emerged that Kanye – who has four children with his ex-wife Kim

Kim Kardashian-had married the Yeezy designer in a secret ceremony that, however, would not be valid from a legal point of view because the couple has not obtained a marriage license.

The controversial star has gone through a turbulent few months as a result of the loss of lucrative contracts with firms such as Balenciaga, Adidas and Gap due to anti-Semitic comments he made on social networks and which he continues to refuse to retract. That has indirectly dealt a very heavy blow to his reputation: in December, for example, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago withdrew the honorary doctorate it had awarded him in 2015 for his contributions to art and culture.
