Manny Machado truncated Correa’s Mets signing

Everything seems to indicate that the mets decided not to sign at the last minute Carlos Correa due to the new plan that they have in mind to carry it out in the next low season. According to sources from Fantrax’s Michael Marino, the New York board internally discussed the possibility of going after the Manny Machado signature at the end of the 2023 MLB season.
Machado is shaping up to get out of his remaining contract with the San Diego Padres, as it is believed that he would seek to improve the economic amount through a new agreement. Therefore, the availability of the Dominican third baseman in free agency is seriously drawing attention in Mets to go after him next winter.
Machado’s current contract with the Frailes has a clause that the 30-year-old third baseman can enforce and thus interrupt the agreement he signed to play in San Diego through 2028 in exchange for $32 million per season.
