For those who have forgotten, it hit theaters back in April 2004, but now, over 15 years later, it’s still just as iconic, to be honest. Years after the film’s initial premiere, the cast reunited in October 2020 and spilled some big tea about the film.
“Not being the queen bee in high school and then later going back to those memories and trying to channel them through that character was therapeutic,” Rachel said at the time. Lindsay added: “During filming, between the movie I was in before and Mean GirlsI went back to school and it was a really strange transition for me. “I was kind of an outcast, so I really enjoyed it when I got to play Cady.”

After the meeting, Jonathan met with E’s Daily Pop! to talk about the cast getting back together.
“That was the moment!” I explained. “Because here’s the thing… we haven’t been all together in 16 years, and to be all together for the first time and do it on Zoom is already awkward seeing each other for the first time; “You want to say so many things, but then when you’re on a Zoom call it becomes even more awkward because you’re waiting for the person to speak and you don’t want to interrupt.”
He continued: “It really gave us a sense of nostalgia, seeing everyone and being around each other, like on screen. It brought back so many school memories for me; You know when you run into an old classmate from high school? “It was really fun.”
