Microsoft Announces June Xbox Games Show, To Be Followed by a Second Mystery Game Event

Microsoft today posted on its official blog the date and time of the traditional Xbox Games Showcase, which will take place during the previous E3 celebrations. It will take place on May 9 at 19:00 Spanish Peninsula time.

What’s special is that the Showcase will be followed by a second event dedicated to a yet-to-be-announced game. We understand that this will be a title that will be revealed for the first time at this event and will be expanded upon later. This appears to be the same strategy as last year, when Microsoft’s keynote was broadcast, followed by a Starfield Direct focusing on Bethesda’s game.

The only clue Microsoft gives us about this mystery game is that it is “the next installment in the beloved franchise.” Due to the aesthetics of the image, the two biggest possibilities that come to mind are that this is a new Call of Duty (specifically the Black Ops saga that players have been asking for a return for a long time) or a new installment from the Gears of War saga.

In any case, this Xbox Games Showcase will be especially important and interesting since it will be the first that Microsoft will hold after the completion of the Activision-Blizzard acquisition. At the moment there are no games that have confirmed its appearance, but we will certainly get more information about it in the coming weeks.

Be that as it may, we still have time to dispel our doubts. For now, we can assure you that you will be able to follow the event with us on our YouTube channel.
