Rigoberto Uran, the best Colombian at the start of O Gran Camiño

In the presence of four Colombian cyclists, the third edition of O Gran Camiño began. This Thursday marked the first stage of the Spanish race, which was an individual time trial covering a 14.8 kilometer route through the city of La Coruña. This is the first test of the year on European roads for Rigoberto Urán, Egan Bernal and Ivan Ramiro Sosa.

The competition, which was in doubt until the last minute due to the weather, ended up going well, but on road bikes. Time is not taken into account in the general classification, so there was only one winner of the day. Starting this Friday, the fight for leadership will begin.

The winner of the day was Briton Joshua Tarling from the Ineos Grenadiers team with a time of 18 minutes 22 seconds. Ireland’s Darren Rafferty from EF Education – EasyPost was second in 0:42. and Spaniard Pablo Castrillo from the Kern Pharma team was third with a time of 48 seconds.

Rigoberto Uran from EF Education – EasyPost was the top Colombian of the day, 1 minute and 25 seconds behind the winner. Egan Bernal of the Ineos Grenadiers finished 21st in 1:43. Ivan Ramiro Sosa was 110th in 4:36 and Nicolas Saenz was second to last in 6:04.

Stage 2 O Gran Camino

The O Gran Camino competition continues this Friday with the second stage of the competition. The day’s route will be 151.2 kilometers, starting in Taboada and then ending in Chantada.having passed four mountain passes, two of the second category and two of the third category.
