Saoirse Ronan and Paapa Essiedu’s new film confirms UK release date
New film by Saoirse Ronan and Paapa Essiedu Outran You’ve confirmed a UK release date for later this year.
The film, which premiered earlier this year to critical acclaim, focuses on themes of addiction and survival and is based on Amy Liptrot’s memoir.
It is now confirmed that Outran debuts in UK and Irish cinemas on Friday, September 27 this year.

The film follows 29-year-old Rhona (Ronan) as she returns home to Orkney after a ten-year absence and “sober but lonely, she tries to suppress her memories of the events that set her on the road to recovery.”
“Slowly the beauty and knowledge of this land seeps into her inner world, and—day by day—Rône finds hope and strength amidst violent storms and bracingly cold seas,” the synopsis adds.

The original memoir was released in 2015 and follows Liptrot as he returns home to Orkney to recover. He has received a number of awards, including the 2016 Wainwright Award and the 2017 PEN-Ackerley Award.
