Social media scam used by Barik

Social media hides many scams and attempted scams that try to trap citizens. Some of them are very complex and difficult to detect. However, there are others that are so gross that they are easy to spot. This is the card that is used by the Barik card, Bizkaia Transport Consortium (CTB), and which is moved through Facebook.

Two images will appear. One, titled “Congratulations” (Congratulations in Spanish), talks about giving away “500 CTB barik Balboa (sic) transport cards with which you can travel for free for a year. For all residents of Spain. And from there another hook. “To improve our customer experience, we ask you to complete a short survey and answer three questions (…). You can’t miss it, quantities are limited,” they say.

The other image is even more incomprehensible. To begin with, a photo of the Madrid light metro appears with a montage of Barik in front. In addition, a link appears that has nothing to do with STV officials. And the message is that for “two euros” you can travel all year round. “Follow the link for all the details.” When it is pierced, the “thieves” succeed.
