Aquamarine was the first major film role for Emma, ​​who was previously known as a Nickelodeon star. After the release of this film, she received a lot of famous roles that fans still watch. This also marked JoJo’s debut film. Before the main role, she was known as just a singer.

“I’ve actually been acting since I was 6 years old, doing professional theater and stuff like that in my hometown of Massachusetts,” she told MTV in 2006. “So acting was nothing new to me. But as far as the movie goes, it was new and these girls are so professional and everyone was so great to work with.”

During the same MTV interview, Sarah revealed that she wore her mermaid tale while filming the movie. “The first time I put on a ponytail, it was really weird because a ponytail weighs like 100 pounds or something, it’s really heavy,” the actress recalls. “So five guys on a stretcher had to carry me around. The first time I was in full costume and they carried me out on a stretcher, I felt like a princess. Everyone applauded me, I raised my hand up, and everyone was like, “Uh-huh!” and then they threw me into the pool like a fish.”
