According to the remuneration report sent late this Friday to the National Securities Market Commission, CaixaBank CEO Gonzalo Gortazar received a global remuneration of 4.15 million euros in 2023, while the bank’s president José Ignacio Goirigolzarri received 2.25 million euros . (CNMV).

The amounts received by the CEO are 5.2% higher than the 3.94 million he received in 2022, and the president’s compensation increased by 5.4%.

Of the total amount accrued by Goirigolzarri, his fixed remuneration amounts to a total of 1.733 million euros, while the variable components amount to 400,000 euros and another 118,000 correspond to other concepts, mainly health insurance premiums and life insurance (in your case). , you do not have contributions to pension systems).

Of Goirigolzarri’s fixed remuneration, 1.543 million corresponds to his salary, another 95,000 euros comes from his membership on the board of directors and another 80,000 euros from his participation in board committees. He also received €15,000 for serving on boards outside the group. Of the variable remuneration, €152,000 is in cash and €248,000 is in shares.

For his part, Gortasar received a fixed remuneration of 2.376 million euros and a variable salary of 1.135 million. In addition, he has a contribution of €540,000 to the long-term savings system and a further €95,000 to other items.

The fixed remuneration of the CEO is divided into 2.142 million fixed salary, 95,000 euros for membership on the board of directors, 53,000 euros for membership in committees of the board of directors and 86,000 euros for positions in group companies. The variable remuneration is divided into €431,000 in cash and €704,000 in shares.

The board of directors received 10.188 million in 2023, an increase of 4.8%

Regarding the remuneration of the board of directors of CaixaBank, in 2023 it amounted to 10.188 million euros, an increase of 4.8% compared to the previous year.

In turn, the senior management of CaixaBank received 15.38 million euros in 2023, which is 7.2% more than the figure of 14.35 million euros a year earlier. However, the numbers are not comparable as the group has changed from 13 members in 2022 to 15 members in 2023 after the departure of Juan Antonio Alcaraz and the addition of Jaume Masana, Jordi Nicolau and Mariona Vicens. At the same time, the average remuneration of the Management Board decreased by 7.15%.

Salary increase for Goygolzarri and Gortazar in 2024

Looking ahead to 2024, CaixaBank’s board of directors will propose to the shareholders meeting on March 22 in Valencia an increase in the president’s target total remuneration of 3% and 5.6% of the remuneration set for the CEO.

Following this increase, Goygolzarri’s fixed remuneration for 2024 will reach €1,784,000, his variable target will reach €346,000 and his risk premium contribution will reach €127,000.

In turn, Gortazar’s fixed remuneration will be €2,507,000, the variable target will be €1,192,000, and the contribution to the long-term savings system will be €668,000.
