The first hardware store specializing in “gypsum board” opens in Puerto Rico

Gypsum Depot & More, the first hardware store that specializes in the sale of gypsum board products and equipment, opened its first of three stores in Puerto Rico this Thursday.

Gypsum Depot & More, which also offers materials for all types of construction, renovation and remodeling projects, recently debuted in the Bayamón municipality.

With an investment of 1.4 million dollars and the creation of 15 direct jobs, the new 8,100-square-foot store and 10,000-square-foot warehouse was designed by a company that works with mega stores in the United States.

“For this great project, we selected a group of experts who helped us design a hardware store with the aim of facilitating quick entry and exit of customers,” said Rey Irrizarry, manager of Gypsum Depot & More.

The Gypsum Depot & More company focuses on providing the attention that contractors, subcontractors and all types of clients in Puerto Rico deserve to complete their projects in less time. “We want to offer a personalized experience. We know that these professionals are short of time due to the number of construction projects they have and what we seek is to facilitate the purchase experience and reduce the time it takes”, added Rey.

According to the manager, contractors and subcontractors that work in Puerto Rico are at a disadvantage compared to those that work with gypsum board in other countries, since there are no hardware stores that have specialized equipment with the latest technology and available in inventory.

Nor are there any hardware stores in Puerto Rico that offer the necessary training to use this type of equipment. Gypsum Depot & More will have an inventory of this equipment at all times and will offer training so that they can provide better service and affordable prices to their customers.

The Hardware Store has seven categories of products ranging from construction materials, paint, tools and hardware, electricity, plumbing, gardening, materials for gypsum board work, bathroom furniture, and accessories for home remodeling.

Currently, the company is carrying out its expansion plans for the opening of the next two stores in Puerto Rico. “With these new openings, we contemplate generating more jobs and betting on economic development on the Island,” concluded the Manager.

The new store is located at Avenida Boulevard 195-A calle 24, Local #1 in the Industrial Minillas urbanization in Bayamón.
