The impressive comparison between Prince William’s wedding cake, Prince Harry’s cake and Lady Diana’s cake

All 3 cakes were multi-tiered.
The palace said Prince Harry and Meghan Markle opted for an elderflower cake instead of the traditional fruitcake. Surprisingly, this is the first royal wedding to do so, as his brother’s, the prince williamand that of his mother, Lady Di, continued with the tradition.
at the wedding of William and Kate in 2011, the groom was served a traditional fruit tart and a chocolate biscuit tart. In the case of Harry’s wedding, while breaking with tradition, the unusual cake was not the only dessert served.
But more surprising than the cake ingredients was the difference in their shape. Both the prince brothers’ and their parents’ cakes were traditionally stacked with several overlapping tiers. Princess Diana’s cake had five tiers, the one for William he was eight and Harry’s was four.
Harry and Meghan preferred to keep their cape a bit more chaotic, with gold accessories supporting the masterpiece. All three cakes have fresh flowers, but Harry and Meghan go a step further by covering the cake with more showy flowers instead of just sitting on it.
Among other similarities, Diana, Kate and Meghan chose British pastry chefs for their wedding cake. Princess Diana’s cake was made by a Royal Navy culinary school; Kate’s from McVitie’s Cake Company; and Meghan’s, Claire Ptak of London’s Violet Bakery.
