Two of the most famous supermarkets are breaking the barrier of cheaper olive oil.

Over the past few months, it seems that olive oil prices are giving consumers a little respite. Although the situation is still far from what it was a couple of years ago, when did this uncontrollable rise in prices for olive products begin?

Given this inflationary scenario, many supermarket chains have tried all sorts of strategiesin order to make its products more competitive and attractive to consumers, although in general terms there is little – or nothing at all – This has been seen in the prices of oil bottles.

Despite this, and taking into account that inflationary pressures are now minimally more controlled, some large supermarkets have decided to apply discounts and offers on oil. in some cases falling below the psychological barrier of 10 euros and even 8 euros.

This can be seen if you look at the promotions carried out by supermarkets such as Eroski, where there is currently a 4X3 offer. As specified, the consumer will be able to purchase four 3-liter bottles of olive oil for the price 29.55 each, and if the promotion is applied, the buyer will receive a refund in the amount of 29.55 (bottle price) on your membership card, so a liter of olive oil will remain at €7.38.

But “Eroski” is not an isolated case, since other large establishments, such as El Corte Inglés also joined the discount party, with a 2X1 offer for certain brands of oil (1 liter). An example is the Carbonell brand sold by a multinational company: the price of a liter of olive oil has decreased from 14.29 to 13.99 euros. But this doesn’t end there, because A second unit can be purchased for half price (€7.00).

In the case of other large networks such as Lidlthere is a promotion whereby when purchasing two liter brand bottles Carbonell, the second unit can be purchased with a 70% discountso you can get 9.67 per liter instead of almost 15 like a free unit.

Finally, we’ll find Fisa extra virgin olive oil, which also comes with a juicy discount when you buy a 5-liter bottle online. the opportunity to get it for 48.90 euros (9.78 euros/l), which reduces the 10 euro barrier.
