What if season two revealed three new divine powers for Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch?

Elizabeth Olsen’s portrayal of the Scarlet Witch received universal praise for bringing a certain vulnerability and emotion to a very powerful character. In the last two Avengers movies, WandaVision And Doctor Strange 2, the MCU showed the complex nature of the character, and his evolution is perhaps one of the best in the universe.

The character also appeared in some stories in What if…? animated series on Disney+. The new season of the show unexpectedly introduced new abilities for the character that fans hadn’t seen before in the MCU.

Scarlet Witch was a very powerful character in the comics. The live-action version of the character, played by Elizabeth Olsen, brought a level of relatability and vulnerability to the character while maintaining his core abilities. V What if..? The series’ creators leveraged the character’s compelling nature into their grand narrative.

In the second season of the series, the character is involved in some important episodes involving the Avengers. She showed off some new abilities that audiences didn’t see in the MCU, giving her a new edge and ferocity. Here are three new abilities the show’s creators introduced in season two.

In the new season of the series What if…? Hayley Atwell’s Captain Carter plays a huge role and is the overarching character in most episodes. In episode 8, it is revealed that Scarlet Witch opened a portal and brought Carter to the Renaissance to help stop the invasion.

The character had never possessed this level of power before, and although America Chavez had this power in Doctor Strange 2, this update to Wanda brings a whole new dynamic to the character. It will be interesting if this is somehow implemented in the future.

In episode 8 What if…? season 2. Scarlet Witch serves the Renaissance version of King Thor. Since Captain Carter is blamed for Hela’s murder, Thor sends Happy Hogan and the Yellow Jackets to destroy her as well. In the episode’s climax, the gang created by Carter works together to find the precursor to the raid.

Scarlet Witch teams up with Carter and protects her from Thor. The character is also seen holding off the raid at the same time, and it’s incredible to see such a level of power boost for a character. Containing such powerful forces is the task of Hercules, and Wanda manages to cope with it and save the universe from a dangerous invasion.

3. Scarlet Witch Has the Power to Reanimate the Dead

In the final What if…? season 2Captain Carter and Doctor Strange go in search of the escaped killer of the universe. In later parts of the episode, it is revealed that the “Evil” Doctor Strange has been capturing heroes and villains from different universes in order to restore his own universe.

When Captain Carter releases captured versions of various people captured by Strange, she and Kahori encounter a zombie version of Scarlet Witch who can summon the bodies/souls of deceased creatures and obey her orders. This is another impressive new character ability that will be very exciting to see in action.
