Anya Taylor-Joy just shared one of her biggest secrets: she married her partner, Malcolm McRae, two years ago. To celebrate their wedding anniversary, she shared photos and videos of their ceremony on Instagram. She wore a custom Dior hummingbird dress with a full skirt. The dress was “beautifully embroidered with our @dior love story,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Two years ago, on the first of April, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans,” Taylor-Joy shared. “The magic of that day is forever ingrained in every cell of my being. Happy second (first) anniversary my love… you’re the coolest🫀 Please note, yes, these are anatomically correct heart cakes. Yes, I am the vampire Lestat.

McRae also shared various photos on his Instagram. “I love you now and somehow always, and somehow it will never end,” he wrote to Taylor-Joy. “Happy two year anniversary (yesterday), beautiful.”

It turns out that McRae and Taylor-Joy have been married much longer than the public assumed. In October 2023, photographs were published of another celebration in Italy, which the media called their wedding. Taylor-Joy appeared to be wearing the same wedding dress in photos from their Italian event, with some outlets reporting that the couple’s special weekend had 150 guests in attendance.

The couple mostly kept their relationship to themselves. They first became romantically involved in May 2021, and got married a year later, on April 1, 2022. Rumors about their wedding first appeared in the tabloids three months later, in July.
