Hero García defends the performance of Antonio Barrul in a viral video of the León cinema: “He is a hero” – El Partidazo de COPE

Antonio Barrul is one of the main heroes of the day in Spain. On May 1, he encountered a man who was very upset during a screening of a children’s film at a Leon movie theater. The video went viral on Sunday, the 6th, and this Monday he went to the newspaper El Partidazo COPE to give his version. In addition, Juanma Castaño counted on Hero García, a man who dealt with such situations.

Hero Garcia was the cathodic big brother of many children who bullied their relatives, dragging them along the same ground. Today the same thing happens to many boys and girls who go to school to fight for their lives. It also offers scholarships to those suffering from economic, social or psychological difficulties.

Antonio, like Jero, turned to sports to combat the problems he saw in his environment. They both know each other precisely from working together in cases similar to those seen by the protagonist of the story in the movie Leon, as described in El Partidazo de COPE: a case of abuse of a woman and an attack on a girl.

A video recorded at a Leon cinema recently circulated on social media, showing two men involved in a physical argument that ends with one of them being stabbed and the other apologizing to others in the theater for what happened. I just witnessed it.

He is a six-time Spanish featherweight boxing champion, but the aggressor did not know this. In the middle of the screening of the film “Garfield”, the boxer saw that the man began to irritate the rest of those present when they accused him of being aggressive towards his girlfriend.

Antonio Barrul’s response was to go down the stairs and meet the man. While others watched the fight in stupor, the boxer eventually defeated the aggressor, who was left lying on the ground. This Monday he gave his explanations for El Partidazo COPE, just as Hero García explained why he is a “hero” for him.

“He’s a hero”

“This case affects you from all sides,” is how Juanma Castaño introduced Hero García in the program El Partidazo COPE this Monday. The coach explained why: “Yes, this is so, firstly, because I have a special affection for Antonio. I have known him since childhood, and his father was the same age as me when he boxed.”

Hero García wanted to make it clear that for him, Antonio Barrul is “for me a hero”: “It is logical, ending in such a cruel way in quotes, that it is not so cruel, because you can see the absolute control of Antonio when it comes to cutting, note that the extreme control he has takes its toll solely and exclusively on his body, and he seeks to reduce it.

Why does Antonio Barrul do it this way? Hero Garcia explains that “in a certain way he saw danger, he saw at a certain moment, let’s say, that his life was in danger”: “In quotes, his opponent at that moment stands up and stands on guard.” The trainer and former boxer gives his own an example that explains such situations and such attitudes.

“For me, because I’ve worked at doors for a long time, if there’s someone who makes me wary, standing at attention, it’s because they’re about to attack,” says Hero Garcia, “at that moment you can feel fear, and you have three options: either you stand in profile and block, run away, or fight”: “Antonio fights in a controlled manner, seeking solely and exclusively to weaken his opponent.”
